Term of Appointment: May 2013-April 2014
Position Description
-
Act as the liaison with all Science Clubs – to keep Council informed of their activities and vice-versa
-
Be responsible for the planning and organization of two Clubs Forums, to take place once per term, in the start of each term
-
Be responsible for directing clubs to appropriate resources should the need arise
-
Aid in overseeing the annual review of the standing of all Science Clubs, which includes: (a) providing notification of deadline and criteria of submission to Clubs; (b) publishing results in a report to be submitted to Council; and (c) notifying Clubs of their standing on behalf of the Society

Assist the President and VP Administration in the planning of Clubs Orientation during the summer
NOTE: Having prior connection and/or experience in dealing with Science Clubs is a plus, but not required.

Manage pre-existing partnerships between SUS and other corporations

Actively seek out and develop new partnerships between SUS and other corporations

Network with various corporations and organizations, on- and off-campus

Be responsible for seeking out sponsorship for specific events within SUS
-
Provide updates regarding sponsors and reports to the Vice President External
Qualifications:
We are looking for diligent leaders in the Faculty of Science who will be helping us to seek and maintain partnerships between SUS and other on- or off-campus corporations. From this experience, you will be given the opportunity to not only network with business leaders in various industries, but to practice your professional oral and written communication, and gain exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Keep Safe is currently looking for passionate, hard-working volunteers to join this initiative! The Keep Safe Initiative is a coalition of sex worker advocates, students, and public safety officials who are creating a mobile panic button for street sex workers.
Our project involves everything from community outreach and fundraising to device technology testing and social media activity and we need more people to join our Vancouver team!

Your undergraduate society is organizing a Town Hall to be held this Friday March 15th at Abdul Ladha. This is an opportunity to talk about the general questions or concerns that you have with regards to the faculty of science with your Dean Dr. Peacock.
