SUS Leadership and Teaching Award Nominations

The Science Undergraduate Society Student Leadership Awards aim to acknowledge and support the contributions that Science students make towards the entire UBC community through volunteerism or employment. We recognize the importance of student leadership and the potential that students have to bring about positive change. These awards are used to reward students who make the most of their time in the Faculty of Science at UBC.

Eligibility is limited to students currently enrolled in the Faculty of Science. Members of the Science Undergraduate Society Student Council (Executives, Councillors and members ex officio) are not eligible. Students may nominate themselves.

The Science Undergraduate Society Teaching Excellence Awards aim to recognize outstanding efforts in undergraduate education within the Faculty of Science. We acknowledge the ways in which exemplary teaching, both inside and outside the classroom, can positively contribute towards students’ undergraduate experiences. These awards are used to recognize instructors who engage their students in critical thought, impart a love of science and assist students to achieve success.

Eligibility is limited to any Professor, Instructor or Teaching Assistant from the Faculty of Science who has taught or is teaching a course during the 2010-2011 academic year.

Nomination forms for these awards are attached. Nominations are due Wednesday, 30 March. Forms should be submitted to the SUS office at the Abdul Ladha Science Student Centre. Student Leadership Award nominations are handled by the Vice-President Internal, and Teaching Excellence Award nominations are handled by the Science Student Senator.
